The story flows nicely from beginning to end and has a soft tone to it. Reading about a little kid getting lost is something scary and sad to read but the author has done a nice job of not making it so scary. You feel like cheering for the little bird and applauding the moms he meets along the way.

Lastly, the illustrations were in both bright and pastel colors, which made Yellow's journey so much more vivid and lively. The illustrator's techniques made for a visually beautiful book.
